The Keelers- Peter Wood






Peter comes from Lancashire, via Sheffield and Surrey, and although a baritone singer tends to sing bass harmony in the group. He has been an established solo singer and musician since the early 60s, and has been a member of the High Level Ranters and the Johnny Handle Band as well as lots of other things. He has written many shows, usually featuring the Keelers, including "The Fiery Admiral" in 2005. He is a bit schizophrenic, as he spends a lots of time playing tunes in sessions, mainly on fiddle and concertina. He also researches folk music, and has published lots, notably his 2008 book "The Elliotts of Birtley".
